What Are We If Only in the Eyes of the World?

Are we strangers?

Is that us?

Perhaps even foes.

No one who knows me

and no one who knows you

knows

that we communicate constantly,

a continuous cycle of conversation.

They don’t need to

I suppose.

I, the moon to your sun,

you, the thorns to my rose

and the world goes on oblivious.

We are strangers.
